Served in the Revolutionary Army with Massachusetts Troops from 15 Aug 1776 to 1780. Applied for pension 10 Sept 1832 and Pension Certificate # 11875 was issued to John Tha*t*cher on 8 July 1833, rate $34.52 per annum. Although he had signed the application as John "Thacher", rather than delay the payment of the pension he added the letter T to his name.
He moved from Attleoboro, Mass to Harford, PA about 1800, purchasing land from the Nine Partners.
