Obituary:
Mrs. Rosie Vajdak Passes Away From Paralysis Attack.

Mrs. Rosie Vajdak, 58, died in her family home in Snook Wednesday, June 26, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of a stroke of paralysis following an illness of a week's duration.

Mrs. Vajdak was born in Czechoslovakia. In her native land she grew into young womanhood, spending 25 years of her life there. In 1912 she came to America with her parents, Joseph and Vera Hlavaty. The family first settled at Wallis where she lived 11 years and in 1923 she moved to Snook and has lived there since that time.

In 1923 she was married to Frank Vajdak of Snook and immediately after the wedding she came to Snook as a bride to make her new home. They lived together as husband and wife only 5 years. Her husband preceded her to the grave, having died in 1929, 18 years ago. To this marriage union two children were born. Surviving are one daughter and one son: Mrs. Travis Phillips, Houston, and Raymond J. Vajdak, Snook.

She is also survived by 3 step-sons and 5 step-daughters: Frank Vajdak and Jerry Vajdak, both of Snook; Eddie Vajdak, Houston; Mrs. Will Kovar, Mrs. Joe Gerzik, Mrs. Walter Sebesta, all of Snook; Mrs. Frank Kover, Beasley, Mrs. Joe Cervenka, Houston. Two brothers and six sisters: Frank Hlavaty and John Hlavaty, both of Houston; Mrs. Rudolph Shenk, Snook; Mrs. Ernest Walzel, Beasley; Mrs. John Kolaja, Needville; Mrs. J.B. Turner, Mrs. H.A. Stevens and Miss Bessie Hlavaty, all of Houston.

Funeral services were at 23p.m. June 28 from the Snook Moravian Brethren Church with the Rev. H.E. Beseda officiating. Interment in Snook cemetery with Phillips and Luckey directing.
