Verdia Edna Prunty (Combs) 1926 - 2009 Verdia Edna Prunty (Combs) passed away peacefully on July 19, 2009 at 4:05 a.m. at her home with her family. Born on November 29, 1926 in Rose Hill, Virginia to Mary and John Combs and her many brothers and sisters. Her surviving husband of 62 years Charles Prunty Sr.; Brothers and Sisters: Norris Combs, Rollin Combs, Thelma Banks, and Vi Motley; Children: Linda Prunty, Charles Prunty Jr. and Rita Olsen; Grandchildren: Sheree Jackson, Matthew Olsen, Megan Stone, and Amy Olsen; Great-Grandchildren: Branden Jackson, Alexandria Greene, and Helen Stone; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Karissa, Kaley, Kelvin, and Sebastian Jackson. She enjoyed her life and her work as the Director of Pre-School at the Highland Assembly of God; Church, oil painting, cooking, sewing, gardening, playing domino's, reading her bible and listening to it on tape, and spending time with her family. Verdia's visitation is on July 22, from 4 o'clock p.m. to 8 o'clock p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary on River Blvd. Her funeral is on July 23, at 10 o'clock a.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary on River Blvd. She is and always will be loved by everyone in her family and all the people she had touched.
