William Combs
William P. Combs, 69, of Carrollton died Saturday morning, May 18, 1991, at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Rosehill, VA., the son of John and Mary Marcum Combs. He married Betty Damm on June 22, 1946, in Carrollton.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Ommen of Carrollton and Debbie White Combs of Carrollton; three sons, William G. Combs of Jerseyville, Rick Combs of Carrollton and Joe Combs of White Hall; 14 grandchildren; five sisters, Lillie Long of Monticello, Nola Prunty of Fidelity and Verda Prunty, Thelma Barks and Hazel Motley, all of Bakersfield, CA.; four brothers, Millard Combs of Greenfield, John Combs of Bakersfield, CA.; Norris Combs of Jacksonville and Rollin Combs of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Jerry Combs.
Mr. Combs operated a timber and backhoe service in and around Carrollton.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Carrollton.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
