Thomas F. Rigsby
Retired local businessman Thomas F. Rigsby, 85, of 1006 Elm street, Clinton, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Rockville after an extended illness.
He was co-owner of Rigsby and Catterson furniture store. He operated as a used furniture dealer in 1944 and formed a partnership in 1946 with his daughter and son-in-law, Hermine and Lester Catterson. The store expanded to include appliances. Rigsby remained active in the company until 1965.
He was born April 29, 1896, at Mount Vernon, Ky., to. Thomas and Mary Cain,Rigsby. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Coleman Rigsby, in 1968; one son, Max Lee, in 1945, and the store's co-owner, Lester Catterson, in 1978.
Surviving are two daughters, Hermine Blackburn and Evelyn Robertson, both of Clinton; one son, Raymond of Clinton; two grandsons, Tom and Bob Rigsby of Clinton, and eight great- grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wrist Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Friday.
