Delma Dean Dye Monk, 65, of
Richlands, died Sept. 21 at her
home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Richlands
and was a daughter of the late
William David and Myrtle Ruth
Chapman Dye.
She was a lifelong resident of
the Richlands area and was a
loving wife and homemaker.
She was a member of the
Bethel Assembly Church in
Richlands, the Woodman of the
World, and the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by two
brothers, Leslie Dye and
Douglas MacArthur Dye.
Survivors: husband, Kenneth
W. Monk, Sr.; sons, Kenneth
Woody Monk Jr. and David
Michael Monk, both of
Richlands, Terry Allen Monk,
Sr. of Raven; sisters, Mrs. Bob
(Evelyn) Reynolds of Richlands,
Mrs. Alfred (Carol) Raschella of
Pikeville, KY; brothers, Doris
Lee Dye of San Antonio, TX,
Ralph Dye, Carl (Cork) Dye.
Kenneth Dye and Larry W. Dye,
all of Richlands, Donald (Gene)
Dye of Salem, Joe Benny Dye of
Beckley, WV, Glen Dye of
Tidewater; four grandchildren,
Eve Blankenship, Ann Monk,
Suzie Monk, Terry Monk Jr.;
and one great-grandchild,
Chandler Blankenship.
The funeral was conducted
Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at the
Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in
Richlands with Rev. Stanley
Morris officiating.
Interment followed in
Greenhills Memory Gardens at
Claypool Hill.
