Ruby Pearl Rogers was the eighth child born to Thomas Pitts Rogers and Florence Virginia Womack. She was born in 1906 in what was then the Chickasaw Indian Nation, but later became Dustin, Hughes Co., OK. She grew up in Oklahoma and moved with her family to Imperial County, CA. She first married Frederick Elvin Lamping. They had one daughter and lived in Fullerton, CA. Fred owned a glass replacement company. After his death at age 48, Ruby, known by friends as Betty, next married James Edward Curnow. They lived in southern California. After his death in 1966, Ruby moved to Porterville, Tulare Co., CA where several of her relatives lived. She died in April 1995 and is buried in the Woodville Cemetery, Tulare Co., CA where many of her Rogers and Womack relatives are interred. Her headstone is marked with "Betty Curnow"; however her name was Ruby Pearl (Rogers) Lamping Curnow.
