David R. Morehouse is Claimed by Death, Well Known West Lafayette Man Expires after a Long Illness; Native of Hebron Neighborhood.
David R. Morehouse, for many years a popular employe of the R.M. Southworth store in West Lafayette, died at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday morning at the Home hospital. He had been in failing health for some time, but bore his affliction with fortitude, and fought hard for recovery, displaying wonderful courage until the end.
Mr. Morehouse was the son of the late S.A. Morehouse and Mrs. Mary Morehouse and was born near Hebron in this county. He had resided in West Lafayette for many years and enjoyed an extensive acquaintance both with the townspeople and the student body at Purdue university. He had a pleasing personality and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mary Morehouse, and the following brothers and sisters: Misses Mary, Zelina and Maude Morehouse; Mrs. H.C. Mills of West Lafayette; Mrs. J.A. Martin of South Bend; Mrs. M.H. Erickson of Brookston; and A.L. Morehouse and G.R. Morehouse of Savannah, Ga.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home of his mother near Hebron, at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. Interment in Grand View Cemetery.
