Jerry Behm, 67, Summitville, IN, died April 19, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born February 5, 1945 in Columbus, Wisconsin, the son of William Ernest Behm and Mildred (Meitner) Behm. He had been a resident of the Summitville area for 27 years.

Jerry served his country in the United States Army. He was a past commander of the Fairmount American Legion Post 313 and was a member of the NRA and National Park Conservation Association. He was Vice-President of Mid-West Tank, formerly of Summitville for 25 years, retiring in 2010.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle (Ice) Behm, whom he married on October 17, 1987;

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville, with Pastor Gary McCaslin officiating. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by the United States Army and Elwood VFW-Post 5782 Honors Team. Friends may call at the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
