SHERMAN - A celebration of life services for Mary Lynn McCulloch, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastors James Moore and Bill Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. McCulloch passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ.

Survivors include her husband, Everett E. McCulloch; daughters, Sherry Hall and Connie Mitchusson, all of Sherman; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Claude E. Hicks of Arlington, and James Hicks of Ector. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday at Waldo Funeral Home. Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lynn (Hicks) McCulloch (1920-2012)


SHERMAN - Services celebrating the life of Mary Lynn Hicks McCulloch, 91, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastors James Moore and Bill Whitehead officiating. Committal services will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Cody Nelson presiding.

Mary was born August 19, 1920, in Savoy, Texas to Claude E. and Price (Ray) Hicks Sr. and went into the presence of our Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman. Mary grew up in Savoy and graduated from North Texas Lab School in Denton, Texas. Mary earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with minors in Chemistry and English from North Texas State University. She married the love of her life, Everett E. McCulloch, on March 7, 1944 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Mrs. McCulloch taught Home Economics at Putnam, Grand Prairie, Seagoville, and Sherman High Schools, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Grayson County Retired Teachers Association and a longtime member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed cooking and sewing, and loved being with her daughters and their families.

Mrs. McCulloch was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Gladys Strealy of Henrietta, Texas, and Frances Wilkerson of Devine, Texas, and a brother David Hicks of Grand Prairie, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Everett E. McCulloch, daughters, Sherry Hall and husband, Mike, Connie Mitchusson and husband, Mike, all of Sherman; grandchildren, Shannon Pasco and husband, Alex of Portland, Ore., Megan Barnhill and husband, Bryan of Allen, Texas, Casey Hall of Portland, Ore., Matthew Mitchusson of Baton Rouge, La., and Marcus Mitchusson of College Station, Texas, a great-grandchild, Parker Pasco of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Claude E. Hicks Jr. and wife, Jean of Arlington, Texas, and James Hicks and wife, Lynn of Ector, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew Mitchusson, Marcus Mitchusson, Bryan Barnhill, Casey Hall and Alex Pasco, and nephews, Gary Hicks and Wesley Hicks. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.
