While feeding the corn shredder at John Ridgeway's Saturday, Starley Snodgrass had the misfortune to get his hand caught and torn off about half way between the hand and elbow.
So far he has not been able to be removed to his home.

Starling Snodgrass while feeding a corn shredder on the farm of John T. Ridgeway, had his left hand caught in the machinery and torn in shreds.
Physicians were called and the hand was amputated about four inches above the wrist.
The accident occurred about 8 o'clock Saturday morning.
Snodgrass was feeding a corn shredder. A bundle of fodder got started in wrong and in trying to straighten it his glove caught in the machinery and his hand was pulled in between the rolls.
His hand was cut into ribbons and the bones of the wrist mashed and the flesh mangled before the machine could be stopped.
Before he could be got loose from the shredder bolts had to be removed and the rolls separated.
During this time Snodgrass suffered untold agony and pleaded with the men who were assisting him
to kill him and put him out of his misery.
Since the amputation and dressing of the wound he has been resting easier and getting along very
nicely.
The Snodgrass home is at New Petersburg.
He is about 22 years old and unmarried. He has been working for Tom Johnson of Penn Township the past year and is a young man of good habits and industrious.
He is held in high esteem in that community.

While feeding the corn shredder at John Ridgeway's Saturday, Starley Snodgrass had the misfortune to get his hand caught and torn off about half way between the hand and elbow.
So far he has not been able to be removed to his home.

Starling Snodgrass while feeding a corn shredder on the farm of John T. Ridgeway, had his left hand caught in the machinery and torn in shreds.
Physicians were called and the hand was amputated about four inches above the wrist.
The accident occurred about 8 o'clock Saturday morning.
Snodgrass was feeding a corn shredder. A bundle of fodder got started in wrong and in trying to straighten it his glove caught in the machinery and his hand was pulled in between the rolls.
His hand was cut into ribbons and the bones of the wrist mashed and the flesh mangled before the machine could be stopped.
Before he could be got loose from the shredder bolts had to be removed and the rolls separated.
During this time Snodgrass suffered untold agony and pleaded with the men who were assisting him
to kill him and put him out of his misery.
Since the amputation and dressing of the wound he has been resting easier and getting along very
nicely.
The Snodgrass home is at New Petersburg.
He is about 22 years old and unmarried. He has been working for Tom Johnson of Penn Township the past year and is a young man of good habits and industrious.
He is held in high esteem in that community.

Services were held Wednesday at 2 P.M. in the Murray Funeral Home, Greenfield, for Starley Snodgrass, 74, of Greenfield, who died Monday at 1:30 A.M. in the Greenfield Municipal Hospital.
Rev. David Phillips officiated and burial was in Gilboa Cemetery, New Petersburg, Ohio.
Born Dec. 24, 1889, in Highland County, he was a son of William and Lilly Cox Snodgrass.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Badger, Dayton; a son, Eugene Snodgrass, Blanchester; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren,and a sister Mrs. Vera Gleadell, Leesburg.
