Alford, Charlie Ray—A retired employee of East Louisiana State Hospital with more than eighteen years of service, he died about 6 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 1998, at his residence in Slaughter [East Feliciana Parish]. He was 58 and a native of Greensburg.
Visiting at First Baptist Church of Slaughter, 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until religious services at 10 a.m.... Burial in Redwood Cemetery.
Survived by wife, Phyllis Varnado Alford, Slaughter; two sons, William Charles "Bill" Alford and Brandon Andrew Alford, both of Slaughter; and two brothers, Carlie Lee Alford, Ethel, and Ernest Ray Alford, Denham Springs.
Preceded in death by parents, William Earl and Annie Lee Addison Alford; three brothers: Willie Lee Alford, Freddie Andrew Alford, and William Andrew Alford; and a sister Joyce Alford.
