George was born to Thomas Benton and Sarah Elizabeth Staley Fuller.

He married Laura Luella Ray on December 22, 1887 in Wayne County West Virginia.

Born to this union: Elva, Ora Carlton, Benjamin Thomas, Ulysses Grant, Jonas Columbus, Ray George, Roy B. Pauline Etta, Mae L., and Edna G.

George was a meter man for United Fuel Gas Company.

He was originally buried in Johnson Cemetery in Harveytown, Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. When Interstate 64 went through it took the cemetery, George and Laura were moved to Dock's Creek Cemetery on October 8, 1963.
