Charles was the son of Oscar V and Josephine C Willihnganz Krebs. He had 2 brothers Urban D and Arthur F and 4 sisters, Katherine M, Juletta G, Harriet R, and Elaine A. On 30 Oct 1951 he married Patricia "Pat" Shields in Clinton Iowa and to this union 2 daughters were born, Barbara Ann and Margaret Mary "Margy". Chuck joined the Army Air Corps during WWII attaining the rank of Sergeant. He received an Aviation Badge whiling serving at the 112th Army Air Force Base at Westover Field in Massachusetts.
