Mrs. Hester Dixon Herndon, wife of J.V. Herndon, died late yesterday at her home at 1703 North Stonewall street, following an illness of some time. She was a faithful and consistent member of the Christian Church and for more than a quarter of a century was closely identified with the social and business progress of the city, evincing a keen interest in all the community activities.

Herndon and lived in Sherman until 1884, when they moved to Greenville and for more than thirty years lived at their present home, 1703 Stonewall street.
