Died at 6 p.m. Friday at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Born April 22, 1885 in Pearl River County, Miss., he was 69 years old and resided at 1951 70th Ave.

Survived by his widow, the former Cynthia Spencer; seven sons, Carlton E., Paul V. James Woodrow and the Rev. Arnold Spiers, all of Baton Rouge; Ottice E. Spiers of Phoenix, Ariz., and William D. Spiers of Frankwlin [sic Franklin]; five daughters, Mrs. J. S. Sartin of McComb, Miss.; Miss Opal Spiers of New Orleans; Mrs. George McManus and Joyce and Lois Spiers, all of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Loper of Sugarland, Tex.; Miss Bessie Spiers of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Myrtie Lee and Mrs. Lucy Carroll, both of Picayune, Miss.; six brothers, Martin, Reuben, and Morris Spiers, all of Picayune; William Spiers of Ocean Springs, Miss.; John and Joe Spiers of Baltimore, Mass.

Body at Rabenhorst Funeral Home where the Rev. Henry T. Beyer will conduct final rites at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Hollywood cemetery at McComb, Miss.
