Mrs. Coate was at the church on Sunday and enjoyed, very much
seeing her old friends, but was stricken with heart trouble Sunday afternoon. Death, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Poole, in Nevada, at 3 o'clock Tuesday morning. Funeral services for this pioneer resident will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nevada church. Isabelle Ricketts Coate was born Oct. 5, 1858, in Switzerland county, the youngest of nine children of Garrett and Alice Ricketts, and when she was eighteen months old, the family removed to Tipton county, settling in the Nevada community. On April 27, 1881, she was united in marriage to David Lindley Coate, who died July 3, 1928. Since that time Mrs. Coate has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Poole. Besides this daughter, the deceased is survived by two other children, Mrs. Ethel Richcreek, of Pierpont, Ohio, and Mrs. Alice McNew, of Kokomo; a brother, Mark Ricketts, of Brookville, Ohio, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
