Edward Falk, 87, died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cornelius Benzschawel.
He was born in Prussia May 22, 1854, and came to America with his parents at the age of 11. They were some of the earliest settlers at High Cliff.
Mr. Falk assisted in building the first lime kiln at High Cliff, and was one of the first coopers in the lime works, the lime being shipped by boat in barrels to lake cities in earlier days. In 1877 he married Amelia Fiedler who died in January 1929.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Cornelius Benzschawel and Mrs. Ida Upston, High Cliff; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Bensschawel home at High Cliff, with burial at the High Cliff cemetery.
Pallbearers were Geo. Mielke, William Buelow, Robert Funk, Theodore Meyer, Fred Gall and Herman Arndt.
