Obit-- Minnie Sherwood was born 2-7-1882, on a farm west of Anderson and departed this life Tuesday morning, 12:45 a.m., on 5-2-1951, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clorena Divine in Lanagan. She was united in marriage 11-14-1897, to Orrin D. Crosby, who preceded her in death 16 years ago. To this union four children were born, two having preceded her in death in infancy. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Divine and Mrs. Anna Mitchell of Anderson, route two; also three grandsons, Dewayne, Lee and Wylie B. Mitchell. Two grandsons, Elwin of Anderson and Luverre Devine, preceded her in death in infancy. Also surviving are six great grandchildren; one brother, Elijah Sherwood of Safford, Arizona. Another brother, C. H. Sherwood of Grove preceded her in death by a few hours. She was converted at an early age and united with the Free Will Baptist Church, and was a devoted Christian. She had been in ill health the past eight months and seriously ill the past three weeks. Through her suffering she was very patient, always thanking her God for everything. She was conscious to the end, having called all her family to the last great grandchild and talking to them, saying she was going home. She thanked everyone for her cards and flowers before she went away, and all but went with "Thank you Jesus" on her lips. She was a wonderful mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
