Ericksen, Ruth M. age 91, formerly of Minnetonka, died peacefully Nov. 21, 2005 at the Annandale Care Center. Born April 24, 1914 of Swedish immigrant parents in the northern Minnesota town of Cayuna, Ruth became a Registered Nurse in 1935 upon her graduation from Swedish Hospital's Nursing School in Minneapolis. She worked in New York City for a few years before returning to Minnesota to continue her career. While working at Swedish Hospital she met Ingolf Ericksen of Carver, MN and they were married in 1943. She also worked at Fairview Hospital before taking employment at Methodist Hospital where she remained until her retirement in 1980. She was well known in premature baby care. Working at Methodist Hospital many thousands of babies were under her care. She was also very helpful to the new mothers by helping guide them into motherhood. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ingolf Oct. 5, 2003; parents; brothers, Harry and Herbert Youngberg; and sister, Phoebe Carlson. Survived by sons, Bob (Carol) and Gary (Kay); granddaughter, Jessica (Daryl) Martin; and great grandson, Hunter. Funeral service 2:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 26 at Ridgewood Church, 4420 Hwy. #101 South. Visitation 1 hour before service at church, and also on Friday evening from 5-7 PM: Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins 952-938-9020
