Obituary for Caroline Hazel Cornett, taken from The Edna Sun, Edna, Kansas, dated Thursday, March 2, 1944:

Infant Daughter Pneumonia Victim

Caroline Hazel Cornett, year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cornett, died at 11:30 Thursday night, February 24 after a week's illness of pneumonia.

The baby was one year and twenty one days old. She was the pride of the family.

A lovely flower from Heaven which brought so much happiness to the home, has been returned to its Maker. The bereaved parents, sisters and brothers will long cherish the memory of this lovely child, who had won its way into their hearts by its childish simplicity and sweet innocence.

Besides the parents she leaves three sisters, Ruby, Edith and June and a brother, Ivan, all of the home and one grandparent, Mrs. Abbie Wall, Dennis.

The funeral was conducted at 2:30 Sunday from the Methodist Church by the Rev. J. R. Williams. Burial was in the family lot at Neodesha, Kansas under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home.

Four Edna high school boys acted as pall bearers. They were Charles Long, Eugene Morgan, Floyd Morgan and Marvin Earl Seger.

Flower girls were, Donna and Ruth Rutter, Ruby Lee Martin, Carol Ann Fahler and Wilma Jean Fahler.

The girls' glee club quartet furnished the music.
