Mrs. Hazel Cornett, 98, formerly of Edna, Angola, Altamont areas, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 24, at Labette County Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 2, 1901, at Parsons, to Christopher and Abby Wall. She married Ernest Cornett on Oct. 3, 1924, at Fredonia.
Mrs. Cornett was a homemaker. The Cornetts celebrated their 66th wedding anniverssary. Mr. Cornett preceded his wife in death on October 9, 1990.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church, Valeda.
Survivors include two daughters, June Rexwinkle of Altamont, and Edith Sinning of Topeka; two sisters, Adaline Hopper of Parsons and Grace Kennedy of Derby; nine grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, seven brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services were Monday, Dec. 27, at North Edna Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, and may be left at the Bath Funeral Home in Altamont.
