MAGGIE KING BARTON CALLED BY DEATH WED

Maggie King Barton, age 46, passed away at her home at one o'clock Wednesday morning September 7 following a brief illness.

Deceased was born June 25, 1886 Ferron, Emery County, Utah, the daughter of John E. and Mary Jane Glines King. She obtained her education in the Emery County schools, December 19, 1906. She was married to A. B. Barton and she has made Monticello her home since that time. Besides her husband she leavs to mourn her loss ten children, Riddell, Lloyd, Nina, Warren, Hene, LeVerda, Clara, Rex and Clyda of Monticelo and Mrs. Alma Palmer of Blanding, also her aged mother who for several years had made her home with Mrs. Barton, two brothers, Will King of Boulder and J. W. King of Idaho and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Barton was a gentle woman of sterling qualities, a devoted wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. All her life she has been active in the affairs of the L.D.S. Church. During her residence in Monticello she has taught in the LDS Sunday School and been a dependable worker in the Relief Society. She was at one time a member of the Rebus Rota Club and at the time of her death a member of the San Juan Camp Daughters of the Utah Pioneers which organization she served two years as president in a creditable manner.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held this afternoon from the LDS chapel which was filled with friends and neighbors assembled to show their respect to the departed and the sorrowing family. A profusion of beautiful flowers gave evidence of the love and esteem in which Mrs. Barton was held.

Prayer was offered by F. B. Mammond, a quartet composed of Mrs. Julius Bailey, Mrs. Frank Redd, J. C. and Arch Bronson sang two selections. The speakers were A. R. Lyman, E. E. Walton and President Wayne H. Redd. A vocal duet was beautifully sung by Mrs. Redd ad Mrs. Bailey also a solo by Mrs. Bailey/ Appropriate violin selections were played by T. H. Evans. The benediction was pronounced by C. R. Christensen. Burial was made in the local cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Lawrence Palmer. Pallbearers were Mrs. Bartons sons and Jens Nielson, Clarence Frost and Lawrence Palmer.
