The Dewalt Mechlin Chapter NSDAR was organized on December 6, 1915, by Mrs. Harry Franklyn C. Prince. The Dewalt Mechlin Chapter has consistently served the historic Beverly Hills/Morgan Park Community, along with other southwest side Chicago and suburban communities, while meeting at the Ridge Park Field House, the Ridge Historical Society, and in members' homes.

Our chapter supports the NSDAR goals of patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. Over the past 95 years, we have supported our veterans, recruited blood donors, donated money and gifts to the veterans hospitals, invested in war bonds, supported the Red Cross, served as election judges, worked to encourage voting, marched in the Beverly Memorial Day Parade, installed markers at historic locations in the community, donated food and clothing to needy families, and many other activities to enrich the community.

We are a versatile group of women of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy each other's company as we come together at monthly meetings with programs that enrich our personal knowledge and also promote DAR activities.
