She was a daughter of Henry and Gertrude Southworth Douglass.
She graduated in 1920 from the Syracuse University School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse with local doctors in home childbirth.
She married Earl J. LaPoint at St. Regis Falls on Nov. 17, 1921. He died on 4/4/1971.
Surviving were two sons, Earl Douglass LaPoint, Massena; Guy Donald LaPoint, Poughkeepsie; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Halcyon) Davies, St. Regis Falls; a brother, Donald Douglass, San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, James William, died in infancy, and a grandson, Gary LaPoint, also died before her.
