Funeral Services Held for O. A. Newsom

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Libertyville Methodist church for Ora A. Newsom, widely known Libertyville resident. He died Friday morning at St. Therese hospital following a stroke suffered Thursday. He was 65 years of age. Mr. Newsom had been active for years in community activities in Libertyville.

He was born in Marion, Ind., Oct. 18, 1883 and came to Libertyville in 1906. For 40 years he was connected with the Libertyville Lumber Co., 20 years as manager. He retired several years ago.

His wife, Lida Lee and two daughters, Mary Eleanor and Sara Beth, survive. A brother, Orange of Marion, and two sisters, Bertha Farley of Marion and Roxie Holman of Indianapolis, also survive.

The deceased was a trustee of the Libertyville Methodist church, a member of the Masonic order, a member of Eastern Star lodge, 432, OES, a member of the Libertyville Community club and a director of the Libertyville Boy’s club. He was also a director of the Arden School for Boys.
