He began his banking career at an early age with the old Bank of Starke, and moved to Tallahassee about 40 years ago, where he became a bank examiner and bank analyst for the State Comptroller's office, remaining in that position or 18 years. During his tenure with the city, he served as president of the Florida League of Municipalities, and was recognized by the Tallahassee and U.S. Chamber of Commerce for outstanding accomplishments in the field of good government.
He was a member of the Tallahassee Exchange Club, the Masonic Lodge, and the United Trinity Methodist Church, serving twice as chairman of its Board of Stewards.
Mr. White's first wife, to whom he was married for 40 years, was the former Ina Alderman of Starke, who died in September 1962. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jack Shoemaker, and four grandchildren, all of Tallahassee; one nephew, Olin White, Jr., of Starke; and three nieces, Mrs. Etholin Savage, Starke; Mrs Carol Fields, Jacksonville; and Mrs. Dorothy Boone, Jackson, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at the United Trinity Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor. Burial was in Tallahassee Memorial Cemetery.
