George Applebacher and Rosana Hertel were married at St. Boniface Church in Germantown.

Georg was born December 8, 1830 in Bavaria to Paul and Regina (Graf) Appelbacher. He farmed in the Township of Charlestown plus the owner of the Hayton Mill. He married Rosana Hertel in Germantown with whom he had eight children; Rosana died March 21, 1869 and Georg remarried to widow, Francesca (Guenther) Mueller with whom he had one child. Georg was drafted as a private in the Union Army on March 9, 1865 in Fond du Lac, WI and was discharged September 4, 1865 at Mobile, AL. Georg spent his last years at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth, in Milwaukee. He died on September 1, 1915 in Milwaukee Soldier's Home, Milwaukee. He is buried in Union Cemetery, North Teutonia Ave. Milwaukee.

Applebacher, George (Dec. 8, 1830-Sept. 1, 1915 –husband of Rosana Haertle [married April 17, 1855 at St Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, Washington County] –after the death of Rosana on March 21, 1869, George re-married to the widow Franziska nee Guenther Mueller [married July 18, 1870 in religious ceremony, Chilton] –son of Paul Applebacher and Regina Graf [1809-1888] –born in Bavaria –drafted into the Union Army on March 9, 1865 as a Private in Company K of the 11th Wisconsin Infantry –he was mustered out at Mobile, Alabama on Sept. 4, 1865 –from Jan. 27, 1868 to April 19, 1882, George owned 72 acres in the S1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 20, Town of Charlestown –on April 21, 1886, George purchased a half interest in the dam and mill at N3755 Weeks Road in Hayton, plus the former Henry Modlin house at N3732 Washington Street in Hayton along with much of the Hayton Plat –the other half of this property was owned by Herman Guenther until his death on July 20, 1892 –on Nov. 14, 1899, George sold his half interest in this property to his son Paul Applebacher –on Sept. 11, 1876, George purchased the lot with house at N3770 Weeks Road in Hayton –he owned this lot with house until selling on June 9, 1980 –in the 1880 census for the Town of Charlestown, George and Franziska are shown living in this house with their children Paul [born in 1864], Mary [born in 1865?], Lena [born in 1868], and Theresa [born in 1871] –in the 1900 census for the Town of Charlestown, George and Franziska are shown living alone in this house –in his later years, George lived with his daughter Elizabeth Applebacher Liesenfelder in the City of Milwaukee, where he died in 1915) –buried at the Union Cemetery, City of Milwaukee [first marriage record Washington County] [second marriage record Calumet 2-9] [death record in Milwaukee County]
