On the 28th day of January 1931, Archie Levy affectionately known by his grandchildren and their friends as "Paw Paw" and by family and friends as "Bug" was born to the late Hattie Levy and Howard Turner.
He attended school in the Madison County School District. Archie joined Velma Roby Levy in holy matrimony on August 31, 1957, and to this union, seven children were born. This union also united his two daughters into the family.
Archie was a hardworking, dedicated husband; father, and grandfather who loved providing for his family and who especially adored his grandchildren.
Archie worked in the Attala County School System for over 42 years as a bus driver, custodian, and cafeteria worker at both McAdams High School and Long Creek Elementary School. His love of truck driving led him to work with his brothers at J.C. Cheek Contractors for a number of years.
He departed this life and transitioned into his eternal life on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Curtis, Joe D., Joseph, and Leon, and one sister Addie B.
Archie leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Velma Roby Levy; seven daughters, Rosie (Herman) Teague of Kosciusko, MS, Ruby Brown, Clara (Michael) Bentley, Sherry Levy of Sallis, MS; Linda (Christopher) Harrell of Gluckstadt MS, Kathy (James) Tillman of Richmond KY; Velma (Roger) Howard of Cameron NC; two sons, James Charles Levy (Carolyn) Levy of Sallis, MS and Terry (Barbara) Levy of Kosciusko MS; one sister, Annie Mae Johnson of St. Louis IL; three brothers T.J., Howard Junior Levy of Sallis, MS and Frankie D.
