Mabel (Mrs. Selmer) Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota, 88, died Sunday, July 7, 1985, at the Clarkfield Care Center.
She was born Mabel Holtan in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on November 31, 1896, to Ole and Anna (Eid) Holtan. She was one of seven children. She was baptized and confirmed and was a life-long member of Bergen Lutheran Church.
On Nov. 11, 1915, she married Selmer Anderson. They had four children. In 1952 they moved from the farm to Granite Falls, Minnesota. In 1980 they again moved — this time to the Clarkfield Care Center. Mabel's death followed the death of her husband Selmer by ten days.
She is survived by her daughter,
Marjorie Fandrey and husband Edwin of Montevideo, Minnesota; sons Clifford and his wife Vivian, Wallace and wife Cleo of
rural Granite Falls; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Alma Olson of Granite Manor; Mrs. Esther Tack of the Masonic Home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. Mildred Anderson of Granite Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; her parents; brothers Arthur and Helmer Holtan; and sister Frances Hanson.
