Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 40/62, Lot 4198
Front and center on this lot is the remnant of a stepped entrance, suggesting that much more ornamentation once surrounded these 11 stones. The principal monument in the center of the lot is inscribed with the family name HOFFMAN on the front.
--On its left side is this inscription:

Departed this life in the City of New-York,
Oct. 1, 1854.
He died amid his kindred.
