Rose Mary Rizzolo, 80, of Sterling passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Sterling. Rose Mary was born on April 24, 1931, in Iliff, to Jake and Margaret Gerk.
Vigil Service and Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Tennant Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Iliff, with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow celebrating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
She married James Rizzolo on Nov. 22, 1958 at St. Anthony in Sterling.
She graduated from Iliff High School. She worked for the telephone company for 10 years, St. Anthony's Religious Education office for 14 years, and at Gibson's Discount Store for seven years. She was a devoted, lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
She is survived by 10 brothers and sisters; sons, Dan and wife Sherri and Darrell; daughter, Melissa Hess; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and brother, Joe.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Anthony Catholic School in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
