Elizabeth Spirek Dies This Morning

Miss Elizabeth Spirek, 55 died early this morning at her home, 702 North Third Street, following a long illness.

The body is at the Wilder and Bruce funeral home. Funeral arrangements, incomplete at the present time, will be announced later.

Miss Spirek was born Dec. 25, 1891, in Elkhorn township. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wesley Spirek.

She lived on a farm one and a half miles east of Moorland until 1920, when the family moved here. She had made her home in Fort Dodge ever since.

Her father died 40 years ago and her mother preceded her in death six years ago. A twin brother, Adam Spirek, died seven years ago and one sister, Mrs. John Vosika (Emma), died in December, 1946.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Julius (Rosie) of Moorland and Mrs. John Husske (Grace) of Fort dodge and two brothers, William Spirek and David Spirek, both of Fort Dodge.

Funeral Rites for Elizabeth Spirek

Final rites were held at the Wilder and Bruce funeral home Monday morning at 10:30 for Miss Elizabeth Spirek, 55, of Fort Dodge who died lat Friday night following a long illness.

The Rev. Paul P. Jackson of Manson, pastor of the Moorland Congregational church, officiated at the services and burial was in the family lot in Graceland cemetery, Elkhorn township.

During the services Mrs. Milton Wilcox of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Lee Fiala of Callender sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Beyond the Sunset,” accompanied by Mrs. Ernest Kaplan of Callender.

Pallbearers, all cousins of Miss Spirek, were Frank Liska, Otto Wesley, Vincent Wesley, and Elmer Wesley, all of Callender; and Henry Wesley and Merle Spirek of Fort Dodge. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fiala of Moorland and Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Engholm of Fort Dodge were in charge of flowers.

Many relatives and friends from Moorland, Otho, Callender, Barnum and Elkhorn township attended the rites.
