Abingdon - Funeral services for Martin V. Schisler, 83 of Abingdon, will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Abingdon Methodist Church. Friends may call this evening at the Larson Funeral Home in Abingdon. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
Mr. Schisler died Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in St. Mary's Hospital, following an Illes of 3 1/2 weeks. He was a retired farmer.
Born Feb. 7, 1882, at Astoria, he had farmed in the Hermon, St. Augustine and Berwick areas. He was married to Lucinda Derry at Astoria Dec. 21, 1904, and she survives.
Other survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Mike Masterson of London Mills, Mrs. Everett Thurman and Mrs. Raymond Lankford, of Abingdon, Mrs. Bill Thurman of Avon and Mrs. Owen Ralson of St. Augustine; three sons, Charles of Ligard, Ore., and Delvin and Virgil, of Abingdon; three brothers, John of Berwick, Homer of Galesburg and Arthur of Rock Island; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Voorhees, Abingdon, and Mrs. Cyrena McDonald, Astoria; 27 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and five brothers.
