STONE—Funeral services for Edna Belle Stone of Bay City will be held at 10 am Saturday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. G. Wayne Wilson, the Rev. Dan Estes, and the Rev. Jesse Legg officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Mrs. Stone was born in Benton, Ark., and died at 1:30 am Feb7, 1985 at her residence.
A resident of Bay City since 1930, she was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, past president of the Matagorda Historical Society, past president of the Bay City Garden Club, past president of Matagorda Federation of Women’s Club and a lifetime member of and past president of the Bay City PTA.
Survivors include three daughters, Billie Legg of Houston, Bobbye Coffer of Santa Fe, Texas, and Reggie Hales of Cleveland, Texas; a son, J.W. “Jim” Watson of Pearland, Texas; five sisters, Frankie Socha of Magnolia, Texas, Faye Hadley of El Campo, Hazel Andrews, Jo Smith and Thelma Gola, all of Bay City; three brothers, Austin Brumley of Bay City, H.T. Brumley of Freeport and Jack Brumley of Blessing; a stepson, Ragan Stone of Bay City; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Vernon Legg, Trey Phillips, John Williams, Terry Gibson, Kendall Coffer, and Greg Watson. Honorary pallbearers are Wade and Wyatt Ashcraft, James Starks, Dale Alexander, Lavell Lawrence, Albert Cummings, and Marvin Rogers.
A step-son, Charles C. Stone, Jr., preceded her in death.
