Mrs. McCarty worked as a seamstress at Morganstern Pants Factory and a member of Eastland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Willie D. McCarty; son William D. McCarty Jr. and wife Karen of Spotsylvania County; four grandchildren Billy McCarty of Spotsylvania, Stephanie Brookman of Gordonsville, Dwayne McCarty and Danielle McCarty both of Spotsylvania; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bland.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 1 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
