In 1860 father Daniel and his wife Celeste lived in St. Ferdinand Township and he was working as a laborer. They had twin boys, John Thomas and Henry William age two years.
In 1870 the family was living in the Baden area and had added siblings to the family, Peter, Daniel and Philadelphia. (Joseph is not listed)
The family lived on Bellefontaine Road and Withers in 1877, 1878 and 1879.
By 1880 they moved to East St. Louis, Illinois and Daniel was a hotel keeper, they had added Richard to the family.
April 21, 1881 John married Mary Celeste Neumann (he 22, she 18) in East St. Louis, Illinois. Witnesses were Henry William Ellington his brother and Theresa Neumann, the brides sister. They were married for 41 years and had 14 children. Daniel Sullivan, Nellie Petedrol, John Thomas (died less than a year old) John Thomas (died age 16) Jeanne (died age 15), Eleanor Calastic, Mary C., Anna Lorraine, Frank Paul, Peter, Richard, Robert Relin, Elmer and Marguerite.
By 1900 the family moved back across the river to St. Louis to 2011 N 9th Street. John and son Daniel were laborers, Nellie was a biscuit baker, With John, Eleanor, Marie, Annie and Pete.
By 1910 at 3120 11th street, St. Louis, John was working for the St. Louis City water works, Mary and Annie worked as packers in a can company probably Continental Can, Pete, Robert, Elmer (died age 15) and Margaret.
By 1920 The family moved to Detroit, Michigan living at 129 15th Street. John and his sons Peter, Robert and son-in-law George were working at Fisher Body a Division of Chevrolet, later General Motors. Daughter, Ann and her family, husband George, daughter Lillian and baby George were living with the parents.
John died August 16, 1922, age 64, in Detroit , leaving Mary as a widow, and is buried in the Woodmere Cemetery. Detroit Michigan.
