LYONS - Rosetta W. Pittman, 84, of Lyons, died Feb. 14,1998, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1913, in Ellis County, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hopper Rumsey. A Lyons resident since 1940, she was a homemaker and the former owner of Montgomery Ward Catalog Store, Lyons.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school superintendent, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a Meals on Wheels board member, was on the Girl Scout Executive Council, was a Boy Scout leader and Girl Scout leader, a past member of the Lyons School Board, and was a past president of the Li-Ar-Mu Club and the Ladies American Bowling Congress, all at Lyons.
On April 28,1937, she married Van Pittman at Russell. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gerald "Bud," Andover; a daughter, Susie Collison, Wichita; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Lyons, with the Rev. Curtis Fitzgerald presiding. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church in care of Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.
