Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas for Bertha C. Trahan, age 80, the former Bertha Comeaux, who passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.

Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Richard Vidrine, pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Trahan was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Grand Prairie.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Shane Trahan and Jody L. Trahan, both of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Laura T. Perrodin and her husband, Michael, of Sunset; eleven grandchildren, Jamie S. Perrodin, Casie P. Normand, Kellie P. Joubert, Kylie P. Bogetti, Katie Lynn Trahan, Austin James Trahan, Emily Nicole Trahan, Justin Reed, Chelsie Trahan, Brandi Trahan and Jaden Manuel; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Lona Broussard of Scott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Athanas "Nue" Trahan; her parents, Louis Comeaux and the former Bernadette Prejean; six brothers; and four sisters. A rosary will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
