Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Ursie Comeaux, 82, who passed away at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas.

Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro.

The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Julie Broussard and accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ.

Mr. Comeaux was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. He worked as a carpenter for U.S.L for a number of years. Mr. Comeaux was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Arabie and her husband, Huey, of Indian Bayou, and Margaret Delacruz and her husband, Benjamin, of Nederland, Texas; one brother, Lovistan Comeaux, of Vatican; three sisters, Mrs. Lovenia Guilbeau, of Carencro, Bertha Trahan and her husband, Athanas, of Washington, La., and Lona Broussard, of Scott; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marie Bourque; his parents, Louis Comeaux and the former Bernadette Prejean; four brothers, John Comeaux, Elie Comeaux, Lovin Comeaux and Janero Comeaux; and three sisters, Marie Hernandez, Berline Leger and Edise Guillot.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 N. University Ave.was in charge of arrangements.
