Benjamin Franklin Foster of Roseville and Swan Creek, IL died Sept. 6, 1960.
He married Emma Phillips of Atlas on September 25, 1897 in Pittsfield, IL. To this union were born three sons: William Basil Foster of Aurora, IL, Thomas Robert Foster of Lomax, IL, and Benjamin Franklin Foster of Ocalla, FL and four daughters: Ada Belle Hartsock of Pleasant Hill, IL, Florence Edith Fletcher of Swan Creek, IL, Ethel Mae Bishop of Prairie City, Naomi Ruth Bishop of Avon, IL. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers: Robert Lee Foster of New Windsor, IL and William Basil Foster of Hamburg, IA and one sister: LaBertha Armenta Armstrong of Pleasant Hill, IL, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by two brothers : Charles H. Foster in 1934, Kenneda Foster in 1955 and three sisters.
Mr. Foster was the son of William and Elizabeth (Wilcoxen) Foster and born at Atlas, IL. In 1900 they moved to Missouri and later to Nebraska and Burlington, IA. For the past 45 years he has lived in and around Roseville, IL and Swan Creek, IL. He and his wife have been receiving care at Westford Nursing Home at Prairie City, IL for the past seven months.
Mr. Foster has been in poor health the past two years and since November has been fading faster.
He was a former member of the American Woodman Lodge.
Friends may call at the Corman Memorial Funeral Home; services will begin at 2:30 pm.
Pallbearers are: Wilbert Schisler, Orie Baldwin, Dale Sands, Merle Vail, Glen Peterson, Francis Frugtey. Music by Mr. Marks, John Janes and Irma Sands, player. Song: Rock of Ages and Old Rugged Cross.
