Louis Bernard Edward Buth was born June 9, 1922 near Wolverton, Minnesota in Mitchell Township, the son of William and Emma (Ruediger) Buth. Louis farmed with his father until his marriage to Eileen Blanche Strand in April of 1946. At that time Louis and Eileen moved to and farmed the Edward Buth farm near Rothsay, MN. In 1951 they moved to his wife's family home near Wolverton on the Carl Strand farm where they farmed for 35 years. Louis also did carpenter work in that area for several years until retiring in 1983. In 1983 they moved into Pelican Rapids and Louis continued to do carpenter work around Pelican Rapids for several years. Eileen passed away on January 31, 2002.
Louis was a member of the Pelican Rapids Senior Citizen Club and spent many years doing volunteer work there. He also enjoyed woodworking making many different kinds of wood projects.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; parents; and three brothers: Ernest, Arnold, and Victor; and sister, Beatrice Springer.
Visitation: Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home.
Service: 10:00 a.m. – Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home
Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota
