Fay Sloniker, 65, of Beloit and formerly of Janesville, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital where he had undergone surgery Monday. He had been ill the past several years.
Mr. Sloniker was a retired Gazette employe, having worked in the maintenance department from 1963 until his retirement Oct. 28, 1967.
A native of Reedstown, Wis., he had farmed most of his life prior to moving here in the 1950s. His first wife, Velma Faith Sloniker, predeceased him.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; five sons, Harland and Lonnie, in Missouri, Malcolm of Orfordville, David, Beloit, and Basil, Rockford; four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Wallace and Mrs. Bonnie Runice, both of Velinda, Calif., Mrs. Shelbie Case, Beloit, and Mrs. Barbara Olson, Rockford; and 19 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Reedstown Church of Christ. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 1 to 9 p ,m. tomorrow at the Sime Brothers Funeral Home, Reedstown.
