CENTRAL CITY - Michael Kasnick, formerly of Philipsburg RD., and a resident of Central City for many years, died suddenly at his home May 5, at the age of 51.

Mr. Kasnick was a son of the late Michael and Susan Kasnick of Philipsburg R.D. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and several other area organizations. He was active in baseball most of his life, having played as a pitcher in his younger days and managing various teams over the years.

At the time of his death, Mr. Kasnick was employed by the Ritz Coal Company in Central City.

He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Krivak; these daughters: Mrs. Anna Louise Russian, Central City; Mrs. Eleanor Munko, Washington, D.C.; and two sons: Larry, with the armed forces in Korea; and Michael Jr., a student at Bucknell College, Lewisburg, Pa.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Mrs. Theresa Meszaros and John Kasnick, all of Bridgeport, Conn.; Mrs. Betty Mason and Frank Kasnick, both of Philipsburg R.D.; Joseph, Hawk Run; Stephen, address unknown; and Mrs. Violet Ronson, Maryland.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Brumbaugh Funeral Home in Central City but arrangements have not been completed pending the possible return of his son from Korea.
