Evelyn Bernice Hogan was the daughter of Robert Hogan and Nellie Tomlinson and the sister of Johnnie, Walter, Robert, Nellie & Lula Mae Hogan. She married Daniel Duelon Collie and had two daughters, Nellie Bernice and Annie Lee Collie. Dan Collie died at the age of 35 and Bernice, as she was called, would later marry Sam Piffero and with him have a son, Sam Jr. Bernice, Sam and her children moved to Salinas, California where Sam Sr. was stationed at Fort Ord.
Bernice is deeply missed and celebrated by her granddaughter Debra Hascall.
