Betty and her twin brother Bill were born on April 13, 1922 in Caldwell, Idaho to Eleanor and John Shafer. She married Asael (Ace) Mardell John on October 6, 1945 in Elko, Nevada.
Betty retired from Hill Air Force Base after 27 years of service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She lived most of her life in the Roy and the Clinton area and had made many wonderful friends. She enjoyed painting and ceramics in her later years and enjoyed sharing her beautiful creations with others.
Betty is survived by her children; Janice John, Galloway, NJ; Bill (Kathy) John of Sandy, UT., six adoring grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Special thanks to all of her wonderful neighbors, especially the Goodwins who were always there for her. We would also like to thank her many friends, relatives and members of the Clinton 13th Ward. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held on Thursday March 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the services.
Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
