Meri was born in Barisciano, Italy on April 4, 1889 the daughter of Domenic & Agnes Panone.
Sometime before 1913 she married Giulio "Julio" DeFelice in Italy, and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1963.
Julio immigrated to the United States in March 1913. Meri remained in Italy, not immigrating to the US until 1920. She left from Naples, Italy on March 5, 1920 on board the S.S. Cretic and arrived in the US at Boston on March 20, 1920. She traveled by train to Bellaire where her husband had found work as a coal miner.
Meri was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Meri is survived by one son, Adam (Sarah) DeFelice, of Bellaire; 3 daughters: Agnes "Aggie" (Harry) Copper and Mary (Robert) Turner, both of Shadyside; Emma Closser of Kenton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren: Victoria "Vicki" DeFelice; Kathleen "Kathy" & Pamela "Pammy" Copper; Shirley (Jack) Stauffer; Nancy (John T.) Bechtol; Linda Closser; Bob, Mary "Sissy", Louis, and Joanne Turner; 2 great-grandchildren: Eric Stauffer, Michele Bechtol; and 2 on the way: Terrence Bechtol & Tiffany Koonce; 1 step-grandson, James deBlasis, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Panone of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; 3 nephews: Demetrio (Anna) Panone of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania; Dino (Lidia) Panone of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and Emilio (Pasquina) Panone of France; 1 niece: Giuseppina (Gaetano)D'Lessandro of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; 4 great-nephews: Gino, Roberto, Constantino, and Paul Panone; 3 great-nieces: Renata, Anna, and ? Panone.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Attilio DeFelice who died in infancy in Italy in 1912, and a brother Franco Panone who also died in Barisciano, Italy.
Funeral mass held at St. John's Catholic Church with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
