Mr Diederich died at 7 am yesterday in Parkview Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient 10 days.
A native of Iowa, he resided here 60 years and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
Prior to his retirement two years ago, Mr Diederich was employed by the Falstaff Brewing Co for 27 years. During his youth, he was active in baseball and was a pitcher for several teams in this area.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Betty Jane Frost, Fort Wayne; a brother, Henry, Chicago; a grandson, Brian Frost, Fort Wayne, and a granddaughter, Christine Frost, Fort Wayne.
