Actress. Lillian Hall-Davis, an English actress during the silent film era, became well-known to a wide public with her roles in Alfred Hitchcock's early movies "The Ring" and "The Farmer's Wife." Born Lillian Davis, her middle name of Hall was added to Davis for a more fashionable-sounding stage name. She married Walter Pemberton, a British stage actor. Her last film was in 1931. After her career declined with the "talkie" films, she was being treated for a psychotic break. She committed suicide in 1933.
