Anna was born to Anna nee Erickson and Amund Cristensen Orpen in 1879. Decorah, Iowa was her birthplace along with her younger siblings.
Her older sister was born in Krudsherred, Norway. The three sisters and two brothers: Margit-1871(Urdahl), Torina-1873(Bolkan), two brothers Clarence/akaCharles Orpen-1873, Benot-1881 and youngest sister Emma -1884(Scranton).
She married Tilford Gilbertson on June 28, 1902 in Worth Co., Iowa.
Together they were blessed with two children (S.) Alvin in 1903 and (E.) Hannah in 1905.
Her in laws, Sven and Sigrid nee Knudson Gilbertson lived in the area. She and Tilford lived in Worth County and farmed with his parents with townships of Danville and Hanlontown being their homes through 1930.
Anna was laid to rest eternally in peace a year after Tilford passed. She had suffered from her diagnosis cancer of the liver/ bile duct. Her death occured in Bagley. Iowa/ per the certificate.
Both her children journeyed into adulthood remaining on the farmland as unmarried-both being buried near their parents.
